Work for Justice

…What does the Lord require of you

but to do justice, and to love kindness,

and to walk humbly with your God?

— Micah 6:8

In addition to keeping members connected with one another through social and spiritual gatherings, UKirk at UVA also engages in service and social justice advocacy that deepens our faith while working toward beloved community.

Following Jesus means we:

  • Protect the Environment
  • Reject Racism
  • Forgive Often
  • Ask Questions
  • Welcome Strangers
  • Fight Alongside the Oppressed
  • Love God
  • Love One Another

Through Westminster, we have partnerships with many area nonprofits and focus on environmental justice, antiracism, welcome for undocumented neighbors, and full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in church and society. Whether you are looking for theological study with an emphasis on social justice, opportunities for service learning through volunteering, or pilgrimages to the U.S.-Mexico border and other areas of need near and far, we welcome you to help us continue growing in our collective witness to peace, justice, and inclusion.
